Porridge Radio have been bubbling below the radar for a while now. Since relocating from Brighton to London, the ever-changing outfit led by Dana Margolin have been popping up on some excellent line ups across the capital and are set for a summer of enviable festivals slots including performances at The Great Escape, Green Man and End of the Road. 'Give / Take' is the first new single since the project's 2016 lo-fi gem Rice, Pasta and Other Fillers. Propped up by chugging, slacker-rock guitars and buzzing background synthesizer sounds, 'Give / Take' tackles the difficulties of understanding your emotions in a modern minefield of social expectations. Summed up perfectly by the painfully relatable question, 'How do I say no without sounding like a little bitch?', which triggers the addictive outro vocal, 'and how can I say no?', lurking casually in the background as the song reaches its moving climax. -Holly Mullineaux
